HEAD COACH

As a previous Olympic diver, Jorge has a wealth of diving experience and knowledge.

During his competitive years he was Cuban National Champion multiple times on 1m and 3m springboard, as well as a competitor at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Jorge won the Bronze medal at the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, was a finalist in 3m synchronised diving at the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain in 2013 and a Bronze medal winner in the 2014 Centro America Games.

Originally from Havana, Cuba, Jorge moved to Canada in 2017, first to Thunder Bay where he coached their diving club before taking up a permanent position here at  Forest City Diving Club.

ASSISTANT COACH

Julia is former national-level diver who has graduated from Western University. She has been coaching for nine years with the Forest City Diving Club.

Julia is comp-intro trained, meaning she can work with regional and provincial athletes who need help developing their long-term objectives and diving skills. Julia’s favourite board is the 1m springboard.

ASSISTANT COACH

Ella is a former provincial diver in her third year of coaching. She is a Grade 12 student at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic high school and she loves diving off tower.

She was named to the provincial Team Aspire in 2019 and showcased her skills at the Diving Plongeon Canada Virtual Dryland Junior National Championships, where she came in first place in her group.
