Our coaches

All of our programs are instructed or overseen by nationally certified coaches who have been carefully selected for their experience, enthusiasm and knowledge of the sport of diving.

Head Coach, Jorge Pupo Carballo, OLY

As a previous Olympic diver, Jorge has a wealth of diving experience and knowledge. During his competitive years, he was Cuban National Champion multiple times on 1m and 3m springboard, as well as a competitor at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Jorge won the Bronze medal at the Pan Am Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, was a finalist in 3m synchronised diving at the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain in 2013 and a Bronze medal winner in the 2014 Centro America Games. Originally from Havana, Cuba, Jorge moved to Canada in 2017, first to Thunder Bay where he coached their diving club before taking up a permanent position here at  Forest City Diving Club.

Jorge’s enthusiasm for diving can be seen on and off the pool deck. He is passionate about helping each diver reach his or her full potential, encouraging each athlete to set high goals for themselves by paying attention to details and fostering team spirit.
