In appropriate circumstances, divers who have completed the recreational 'Learn-to-Dive' program may be invited to join
the "Future Olympians" - a pre-competitive program - designed to prepare divers to advance to the Competitive Program.
In the Future Olympians program, divers train more often and more intensely than in the recreational programs, accelerating their
progress and introducing them to the thrill of competition.
There are no minimum age or swimming level prerequisites, however advancement to the precompetitive program is by invitation only.
Please speak to the coaching staff if your child is interested in being considered for an invitation.
In 2009 - 10, we are offering (1) a fall session starting in mid-September and running until December;
(2) a winter session starting in early January and continuing until April; and (3) a spring session starting in April and
running until June.
The Future Olympians train 3 hours per week - from 4:30 - 6:00PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
All of our coaches are specially trained and qualified to provide instruction in proper Olympic
diving form and techniques. Parents are invited to discuss their child’s progress with the
coaching staff before or after scheduled dive times. We ask that all parents read and
comply with the parents' code of conduct, prepared by our
governing body, Diving Plongeon Canada. Specifically, we request that you do not try
to coach your child either from the pool deck or the viewing areas.
For more information please contact our head coach, Ioana Marinescu at (519) 872-9799 or any other member
of the executive.
